Fred’s is teaming up with Stone’s Throw Farm Co. to provide job readiness and training opportunities to people with special needs.
What started as a partnership with Stone’s Throw Farm Co. has grown into something mighty special, from locally made goods on our shelves to quarterly Work Days that give their interns hands-on experience with the Fred’s team.
Stone’s Throw is committed to providing work opportunities for teens and adults with special needs through their Farm Internship Program. As part of our Community Support Initiative, Fred’s is proud to support their mission by providing job readiness and hands-on training opportunities for Stone’s Throw’s crew right here in our restaurants.
Stone’s Throw’s handmade jarred goods are now stocked and ready for y’all at every Fred’s location. When you pick up a jar, you’re doing more than bringing home some of the best small-batch Texas flavor around – you’re supporting their Farm Internship Program that helps integrate their team members into the essential rhythms of everyday life. And the best part? 100% of jarred-goods sales go straight back to Stone’s Throw.
Fred’s will also host Stone’s Throw’s team members once each quarter for a shift to get real-world restaurant training and experience. Job readiness is a fundamental part of Stone’s Throw’s mission, and we’re honored to provide opportunities for their crew to build skills, network with their neighbors, and strengthen local connections the way Fred’s always has — through food.
